A study conducted by Craig Roberts at the University of Liverpool in association with Unilever’s research laboratory found that altering your natural body odor, a.k.a. wearing cologne, can make you feel more confident, and it makes you more attractive to women. True story.
In the study, which was published in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science, researchers had men wear cologne every day for several days, and then evaluated them on self-reported confidence levels, as well as how others perceived them.
The researchers found that the men felt significantly more confident when they wore cologne, which is cool and all, but it’s not the best part. It was also discovered that when men wore cologne, women who could see but not smell the men perceived them to be veeery sexually attractive, relative to men who didn’t wear cologne, suggesting that when you feel confident and sexy, women find you irresistible.
